Nicole Thompson
Owner/Coordinator
Always a creative soul, Nicole began planning as a young child
while helping her mother with birthday parties and group events for
the Girl Scouts. From the age of fourteen, her love of planning
developed as she began assisting with, organizing, creating and/or
planning events such as a new school newspaper, her own column in
the local newspaper, beauty pageants, parades, parties and other
fundraisers. In the middle of her high school career, she began to
help assist family and friends with their wedding plans. Continuing
her skills after graduation, she would hold a variety of
fundraisers such as dinner parties, beauty pageants, runway shows,
and the like. Volunteering her time with the Moore County Head
Start, she helped to plan many activities, as well as the
children's "graduation".
While she attended Middle Tn State University, she decided to
produce a television show based on America's Next Top Model with
Tyra Banks. Committing herself to "MTSU Top Model", she worked 40
hours a week on top of her school hours and family life in order to
help produce the most intense and demanding show on MTTV Channel
10. Working with many other talented students, along with several
vendors that volunteered their time and services, the reality
modeling show was brought to fruition with the chance to win a
one-year contract with the Wilhemina-Dan Agency in Nashville,
Tn.
The opportunity to work with professionals excited Nicole as she
was a production assistant for the NATAS Midsouth Emmy Awards and
the Assistant Producer for the NATAS Midsouth Student Awards
television awards show. Then, later that summer, she was a
production assistant for the auditions in Atlanta for America's Got
Talent and was able to meet hundreds of talented people.
Even though Nicole's passion is for creating and planning, she has
been able to successfully juggle her roles as wife and mother.
Married in June of 1993, she has been married to her husband,
Charles, for over 15 years. Having four children between the ages
of fifteen and six, she truly enjoys being a mom. Although she has
been planning what seems like forever, and now that her children
are older, she has decided to take her passion to the next level.
Therefore, she began Genesis Weddings & Special Events, a
full-service wedding and event coordinating/planning service for
the Middle Tennessee area.

Tracie Grigsby
Junior Assistant
A consistent planner and organizer, Tracie, a recent graduate from
Middle Tennessee State University with a degree in Public
Relations, has a passion for event and wedding coordinating.
Throughout high school and college Tracie always coordinated
birthday parties and events and enjoyed seeing her plans fall into
place.
While she attended Middle Tennessee State University she focused on
public relations within the recording industry. She worked at
several PR firms in the Nashville area to get exposure and
experience. Tracie worked with many talented students, PR
professionals, music artists, assisted at events and coordinated
summer concert series.
Now, Tracie is focusing more on independent event coordinating.
Working with professionals and Brides is an exciting aspect of her
life. “I want to meet the Bride and Groom’s expectations- make it
unique and their special day.”
Tracie has been trying to find her place in event and wedding
coordinating and came in contact with Nicole Thompson. Nicole was
seeking more staff for Genesis Weddings and everything fell right
into place.
Tracie currently resides in Murfreesboro. She has been engaged
since July 15, 2008 and will be married on June 20, 2009 at Calvary
Baptist Church. She is planning most of the wedding on her
own-incorporating her own style, colors and creativity.
